Dear Members and Well-Wishers,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the arrangements for this year’s Vesak Celebrations at the Vihara premises. We are all excited and eagerly looking forward to this meaningful opportunity to engage in Dhamma and meritorious activities together.

Below is the program schedule for Saturday, May 17th, 2025 and Sunday, May 18th, 2025:

Saturday, May 17th, 2025 – Vesak Observances

  • 5:00 – 5:20 PM – Pahan Puja

  • 5:20 – 5:30 PM – Gilanpasa Puja

  • 5:30 – 5:40 PM – Lighting of the Oil Lamp

  • 5:45 – 6:30 PM – Devotional Songs (Vesak Bhakthi Gee)

  • 6:30 – 7:30 PM – Refreshment Interval

  • 7:30 – 7:35 PM – Invitation for Pirith

  • 7:35 – 8:00 PM – Dhamma Sermon on the Significance of Vesak

  • 8:00 – 11:00 PM – Pirith Chanting

    • Maha Piritha

    • Dhammachakkappavattana Sutta

    • Aṭānāṭiya Sutta

  • 11:00 – 11:30 PM – Distribution of Holy Thread and Holy Water

  • 11:30 PM – End of the Program

Sunday, May 18th, 2025 – Dana and AGM

  • 10:30 – 11:40 AM – Vesak Buddha Puja

  • 11:40 AM – 12:00 PM – Daana for Monks

  • 12:00 – 1:00 PM – Vesak Dansala for Devotees

  • 1:00 – 3:00 PM – Annual General Meeting

Volunteering & Sponsorships

  • Mrs. Tamara Kiriwaththuduwa has kindly volunteered to coordinate the Pahan Puja. She is in need of additional volunteers to assist with lamp preparation and arrangements.

  • Radesh Raddella is coordinating refreshments (Saturday) and Dana and Dansala (Sunday).

Special Notes

  • Six venerable monks, including Ven. Kumbalgoda Siriniwasa and Ven. Deegalle Somawansa, will lead the Pirith Chanting on Saturday and attend the Dana on Sunday.

  • We are honored to welcome Ven. Dr. Mirisse Dhammika from Sri Lanka, who will be participating in the Vesak program.

We kindly request your voluntary support in preparing and cleaning the Vihara premises before and after the events on both days.
